Ingredients
Scale
Salmon
- 1 lb Salmon filet (approx. 1 lb)
- Salt and pepper, as desired
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder (divided)
Creamy Lemon Sauce
- ½ cup Greek yogurt (plain)
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Thyme (dried)
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder (divided)
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 Tbsp Green onions (sliced, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat and season: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Rinse the salmon filet under cold water and pat it dry thoroughly with paper towels. Season the salmon evenly with salt, pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder on all sides.
- Bake the salmon: Place the seasoned salmon on a baking tray or oven-safe dish and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is completely cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Prepare the creamy lemon sauce: While the salmon is baking, melt the butter in a small pot over medium heat. Once fully melted, add the Greek yogurt, dried thyme, lemon juice, the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and black pepper to taste. Stir the mixture well until combined and heated through but not boiling.
- Serve: Once the salmon is done baking, remove it from the oven and place it on serving plates. Drizzle the creamy lemon sauce generously over the top of the salmon filets. Garnish with sliced green onions for a fresh touch before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute fresh thyme for dried thyme if preferred; use 1 tablespoon fresh thyme for 1 teaspoon dried.
- For a dairy-free version, use a dairy-free yogurt alternative and coconut oil instead of butter.
- Make sure not to overbake the salmon to keep it moist and tender.
- If lemon juice is not available, fresh lemon zest can be used to add citrus flavor.
- This recipe pairs well with steamed vegetables or a fresh green salad for a balanced meal.
