Banana Cake Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pans: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans to ensure the cake doesn’t stick after baking.
- Mash Bananas: In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until they become smooth and creamy, releasing their natural sweetness and moisture.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt for even distribution.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract with the mashed bananas. Stir this wet mixture into the dry ingredients gently until just combined, avoiding overmixing to keep the cake tender.
- Divide and Bake: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Frost: Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely. Once cooled, frost the cake as desired and serve.
Notes
- Ensure bananas are very ripe for the best flavor and sweetness.
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the cake light and fluffy.
- Check doneness with a toothpick to avoid overbaking and drying out the cake.
- Use cake flour for a softer texture if preferred.
- Frost with cream cheese or buttercream frosting for enhanced taste.
